HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 21
(By Delegates Claypole, Beach, Buchanan and Fleischauer)
Requesting that the West Virginia Department of Transportation,
Division of Highways, expedite repairs to the Ice's Ferry
Bridge.
Whereas, The Ice's Ferry Bridge spanning Cheat Lake, Route
857, Monongalia County, West Virginia, is in disrepair, and a
load limit of four tons has been imposed thereon; and
Whereas, The Cheat Lake Middle School and Cheat Lake
Elementary School are located south of the said bridge, and
school buses and emergency equipment must detour on Interstate-79
to reach the schools, thus creating potential loss of life and
property to the children and residents of the said area;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the House of Delegates requests that the Department of
Transportation, Division of Highways, expedite repairs to the
Ice's Ferry Bridge as a priority concern; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
be hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and the
Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
